FCS&CA and Legal metrology conducts market checking in Bandipora

Bandipora: A market checking squad of Department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and legal metrolgy realized fine from erring shopkeepers in the district.
Taking strong note of the complaints, the district administration has launched a massive district-wide inspection drive to curb over, black marketing and profiteering.
The team conducted inspection of various business establishments including vegetable, fruit sellers, poultry, mutton sellers, Kiryana, Bakery, LPG distributors at Bandipora, market and booked many traders under various provisions of essential commodities act.
On the occasion, officers asked the traders to follow the rules in letter and spirit and also asked the vendors to follow the packaged commodity rules and other essential commodities Acts.
Besides this legal metrology department also conducted market inspection in many areas of Bandipora, during inspection seven cases were registered for violation of legal metrology law and a sum of Rs 3100 has been collected as fine from ering traders.
Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmed said that the drive will continue across all district markets to keep check on traders and shopkeepers.
