Srinagar: Prominent lawyer and member of district development council from Sangrama segment, Irfan Hafiz Lone on Friday urged the political parties and prominent politicians of Kashmir to initiate dialogue with the Government of India as talks can only lead to resolution of all issues.
In a statement issued on Friday Lone, who defeated Apni Party leader Shoiab Nabi Lone, said that political parties from J&K must build consensus and make every effort for amicable settlement of all issues confronting J&K.
“ Till settlement of other issues, they must work together for restoration of rights guaranteed to the people of J&K by the Constituent Assembly of India,” he said, that he is trying to contribute to the process in his humble capacity.
Lone said initiating talks with New Delhi is the need of hour.
“The need of the hour is that political leadership must talk to New Delhi even if the latter is reluctant. Instead of raising our concerns through media only, it will be more productive to reach out to Centre directly,” he said.
