Snow clearance in rural Budgam goes on at snail’s pace, claims about restoration of services not factually correct: Hakeem

Srinagar/Jan, 6: Chairman Peoples Democratic Front (PDF ) Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen on Wednesday poohpooed claims of district administration Budgam about snow clearance on roads adding that most of the roads leading to main towns and villages were closed as yet. He urged the district administration to come out of cozy office chambers to take stock of the grim situation prevailing on the ground arising our of the recent snow fall.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Former Minister and MLA Khansahib, Budgam has ridiculed district administration Budgam for its failure to restore basic services in rural areas especially snow clearance on roads adding that patients in respective areas have become the first casuality as they were not able to reach upto health centers for treatment in absence of vehicular movement. He said traffic movement from Khansahib , Beerwa and adjoining areas still remains disrupted due to non clearance of snow from roads. He said power supply in rural areas of Budgam also has not been restored in full which has subsequently affected water supply position.
Hakeem urged the administration to ensure availability of essential commodities in rural areas adding that stern action should be taken against black marketeers and profiteers. He has enjoined upon the administration to activate market checking teams to ensure availability of essential commodities at reasonable prices to the people.
PDF Chairman had urged the administration to expedite snow clearance on roads in rural areas of district Budgam so that traffic movement is restored at the earliest. He said traffic movement, power and water supply in rural areas of the district has been hit badly due to recent snow fall adding that the administration should press into service it’s entire men and machinery on war footing basis to restore the system fully . He said most of the roads in rural areas of Central district Budgam were still closed due to heavy snow fall thereby causing great inconvenience to the people especially patients . He has urged the administration to press into service all the available men and machinery to restore traffic movement , power and water supply in all the rural areas of district Budgam.
