JKCCA nominates M Y Taing as its Patron

Jammu: The Executive Committee of Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu has unanimously nominated Mohd. Yusuf Taing, Former Director General Culture, J&K, as the Patron of JKCCA. The meeting was presided over by Pt. Kewal K Sharma, President of JKCCA and attended by all the members of the Executive Body of JKCCA.
Mohd. Yusuf Taing has been Advisor of Jammu & Kashmir since its establishment during 1999. He is the recipient of Padamshree, J&K Govt. State Award and has been awarded Best Book Aweard by J&K Academy of Art, Cukture & Languages. He has worked as Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages for more than two decades, member of J&K Public Service Commission, Chief Editor of State Gazetteers, Director Archives, Archeology and Museums, Director, J&K Information Department, Advisor, Culture to Chief Minister of J&K, Director Libraries, J&K, and many other high profile portfolios. Taing has been Member of J&K Legislative Council, twice, and has been Deputy Chairman, J&K Legislative Council. He has indepth insight in literary amd cultural matters, and has authored more than two dozen books in different languages. He has provided guidance, and has been instrumental in execution of policies and programmes of the organization.
The literary and cultural circles have welcomed the decision of JKCCA to nominate Mohd. Yusuf Taing as Patron of JKCCA, which would go a long way to promote art, culture and languages.
