Srinagar/June,16: A youth critically injured in firing by government forces in Rangreth area in the outskirts of Srinagar city succumbed to injuries in the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.
The deceased youth, identified as Naseer Ahmad, was a resident of Ashtengo village in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district. The youth was hit by a bullet in left side of chest after Sashastra Sema Bal (SSB) personnel allegedly opened fire to disperse stone-throwing youth in Rangreth. He was rushed to SKIMS Medical College Hospital Bemina where from he was referred to SKIMS, Soura. “He was declared dead at around midnight,” said a health official. Meanwhile reports said youth’s body has reached his native Ashtengo village.
