Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) Thursday said the “facts and circumstances” which led to the killing of three youth from south Kashmir in an encounter at Lawaypora on the city outskirts, must be brought to core immediately.
Talking to reporters at Apni Party head office here, party senior vice president, Ghulam Hassan Mir said there should be no delay in ‘investigating’ the claims made by the families of the slain trio from south Kashmir.
He said the party President, Syed Altaf Bukhari has demanded that whatever claims the families of the slain trio made needs to be investigated.
“Our party President, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari made it clear that the facts and circumstances which led to the killing of three children from south Kashmir in an encounter at Lawaypora be immediately ascertained. We also demand to investigate the claims made by the families of the slain trio,” Mir said.
Pertinent to mention here that three youth from south Kashmir were killed in an overnight encounter with government forces at Lawaypora on Wednesday. The families of slain militants however claimed that their kin were innocent and were killed in alleged fake encounter.
Apni Party leader further said they don’t support alleged political vendetta at all and all those leaders who face inquiry by central agencies should immediately approach the court for justice. Mir said since the matter is subjudice, he hopes that political vendetta does not take place at all.
He also demanded that the Assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir be immediately held as the people here feel disempowered sans any political representation.
“We don’t support any such move which is aimed at coercing any political worker or party. So far as inquiry is concerned, law will take its own course, those who face inquiry need to approach the court of law for justice,” Mir said.
He also said that assembly elections would remove misgivings among the people who believe that every law is applied directly from New Delhi.
“There is no political vacuum at all, yes but people feel disempowered sans any political representation. We believe that early assembly elections would remove misgivings among people that laws are directly applied by New Delhi in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added
