Srinagar: The Director Agriculture, Kashmir has asked the officers of the department to make aware the farmers about the potential and benefits of mushroom cultivation and extend all assistance to the mushroom growers in improving their socio-economic status. This was stated by the officer while visiting Integrated Mushroom Development Centre (IMDC) at Lalmandi, Srinagar, Tuesday.
Project Coordinator Mushrooms, briefed the Director about various activities being carried out at the centre. He informed that the Integrated Mushroom Development Centre at Lalmandi Srinagar has been commissioned to make available quality germplasm which serves as a basic input for mushroom cultivation, and the centre is all set to provide high quality compost and spawn to the growers of the valley.
