DDC results show will of people for restoration of thier constitutional rights, hold assembly elections at the earliest: Hakeem

Srinagar/ Dec, 24: Maintaining that enmass participation of people in DDC polls and the results have made it clear that the people of J&K want restoration of thier constitutional rights which have been usurped arbitrarily on August,5 last year.
He said 195 DDC seats out of total 280 went to those parties who want 370 & 35- A back so making it loud and clear that majority of the people of jammu and kashmir want restoration of thier constitutional rights especially statehood and domicile rights.
In a statement issued on Thursday Hakeem said that the results of the just concluded DDC elections have made it amply clear that majority of the people of jammu and kashmir want restoration of thier constitutional rights which were taken away arbitrarily on August 5 last year . He said, now onus lies on the Center to respect the urges and aspirations of the people and restore statehood and special status to jammu and kashmir at the earliest.
PDF Chairman has congratulated the people of Jammu and kashmir for overwhelmingly participating in the DDC elections to express their will. He said, though these elections can not be an alternate to Assembly elections, still the exercise in its tonality has helped to revive democratic values in the strife torn jammu and kashmir. He has enjoined upon the Center to hold Assembly elections in jammu and kashmir as early as possible to enable people to elect thier true representatives . ” After completion of DDC elections successfully, there seems to be no hitch or excuse for holding assembly elections in jammu and kashmir to fill the prevailing political vacuum and uncertainty,” Hakeem Yaseen maintained.He said in the absence of an elected government, development needs and socio – political emancipation in jammu and kashmir has been hit adversely. He said a vibrant political system was imperative for a stable society adding that without a stable political system , there can never be peace and prosperity.He has urged the Center to meet the socio – political aspirations of the people to create a free ,fair and secure political system in jammu and kashmir and to remove the prevailing alienation among the people from the mainstream.
PDF Chairman thanked people for electing PDF candidates in the just concluded DDC elections . While extending his heartiest congratulations to all the elected DDC candidates , Hakeem Yaseen has urged them to serve people with utmost dedication and devotion. He said people have reposed thier trust and confidence on DDC members and they should strive to come upto thier expectations by regressing thier grievances. Hakeem also hailed Election Commission of India (ECI) for holding DDC elections in jammu and kashmir impartially.
