DDC results: Independent candidates Safeena Beigh, Advocat Irfan Lone defeats heavy weights in Baramulla

Srinagar: Safeena Beigh, wife of former Deputy Chief Minister Muzzafar Hussain Beigh, has won Wagoora District Development Council (DDC) seat, while Advocate Irfan Hafiz Lone won Sangrama constituency.
In Sangrama block, the Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) and Jammu Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) suffered a humiliating defeat as independent candidate Advt Irfan Hafeez Lone won the seat. Irfan by securing 2404 votes won the seat by 225 votes margin. Lone defeated Apni Party candidate Shoaib Lone and PDP’s Suhail Bukhari.
Safeena Beigh, wife of former Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Beigh has won from Wagoora territorial constituency. She was contesting independently. Safeena defeated NC candidate Shaheena Begum by 1491 votes. Safeena secured 5210 votes.
Former MLA of Sopore and Deputy President for Congress Haji Abdul Rasheed Dar’s son Shahjahaan Dar won the DDC seat from Zaingeer block. He garnered 1460 votes, and defeated independent candidate Bilal Ahamd Dar, who managed to secure 642 votes.
In Tujjar block Independent Candidate Muzafar Ahmad Bhat defeated Sajad Ahmad Dar by 82 votes. Bhat secured 1534 votes.
In Rafiabad, JKPC candidate Parmeet Kour defeated Tasleema Akthar by 96 votes by securing 1412 votes.
Shabir Ahmad Lone Candidate of National Conference won Rohama seat by defeating Apni Party candidate.
Senior congress leader and former minister Taj Mohiudin won from Parenpillan Uri.
In Narwav and Boniyar territorial Constitution Razia Hassan of Peoples Democratic Party has polled 3309 votes. He defeated Bisma Nabi Pandit of JKAP by 731 votes. PAGD Candidate (NC) Mohd Ismail Khan has won from Boniyar block.
In Pattan constituency Sonaulla Parrey of JKPC won the seat. He secured 5694 votes and defeated Farooq Ahmad Ganie by 1615 votes.
In Singapora, Najma Begum of Jammu and Kashmir People Conference (JKPC) won the DDC seat
