Handwara/Dec, 20:General Officer in Command (GOC) Kilo force H S Sahi on Sunday said that Pakistan is leaving no stone unturned to destabilize the peaceful atmosphere in Kashmir and added the involvement of youngsters in DDC polls across Jammu and Kashmir has conveyed a stern message to neighboring country about what the field of their interest is.
GoC who was speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a musical concert in north Kashmir’s Handwara said that Pakistan is using every attempt to sabotage the peaceful atmosphere in valley. He said the people especially youngsters in recently held DDC polls participated with great zeal and enthusiasm and communicated a strong message to neighboring country about their wishes and whims.
GoC was flanked by Brigade Commander M S Rathore, CO 21 RR Gagandeep Singh and other senior officials of Army. He said there are around 200 militants active in valley while as per intelligence inputs recieved at least 250-300 militants are ready in multiple launching pads across the Line of Control. GoC said that there is no question of compromise on naional security and Army is enough competent to foil the infiltration bids. He appealed local youth to shun the path of militancy and join mainstream politics and make Jammu and Kashmir prosper in front of development. “The youth of Kashmir have understood that what is wrong and what is right, and they are enough mature now to differentiate between good and bad”, GoC said. The Army officer asserted that militancy related incidents have shown huge decline after abrogation of Article 370.
