Mayor Mattu tours Srinagar City, takes stock of ongoing SMC works

Srinagar: Mayor Srinagar Municipal Corporatuon (SMC) on Saturday visited several parts of Srinagar city and took stock of the ongoing works in several areas of the summer capital.
A statement issued from Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) said that Mayor during his visit to several areas of the city was accompanied by Commissioner SMC GazanfarAli , Joint Commisssioner Works Ishtiyaq Ahmed Shah, SE Drainage AhsaanUl Haq, Executives Engineers of both Right and Left division and other officers of the Corporation . Mattu, according to the statement,visited LalChowk, Hari Singh High Street, Secretariat, MA Road , Exchange Road and other adjoining areas to take stock of various SMC works.
“While discussing on beautification of the city ,Mattu stressed on the development of footpaths on either sides of the city roads” the statement reads, adding that “ Mayor stressed for need of a Mechanised Multi level parking on the patch of land belonging to SMC in front of Exchange road”.
Directions were, according to the statement, also given to explore possibilities of having a Mega Market at Lalchowk with parking and other necessary facilities . “Several other initiatives were discussed at length for beautification and further development of Pratap Park as well”, the statement reads.
