Kulgam: The District Administration, Kulgam Tuesday dispatched 185 polling parties along with ballot boxes and other election related material for the conduct of District Development Council (DDC) and Panchayat by-election in 2 blocks Frisal and Behibagh of the district.
The deployment process was conducted under the Chairmanship of District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat.
According to the DPEO, for phase-VII of elections 15 candidates are in fray for 2 DDC seats in these two blocks and 185 polling stations have been established where 34607 voters including 18063 males 16544 females shall exercise their franchise.
Meanwhile the DPEO has assured that elaborated arrangements are in place for smooth conduct of elections.
