Kupwara: District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) Kupwara, Anshul Garg Saturday reviewed the arrangements for phase-VI of the District Development Council (DDC) constituencies and Panchayat By-Election being held on Sunday, 13 December, 2020.
The DPEO said 01 DDC constituency viz. Nutnussa is being contested on the said date during which block Nutnussa and partly Kupwara block will be covered. He said all arrangements including security, transport and other relevant arrangements have been put in place for smooth conduct of the election.
The DPEO informed that 20 DDC candidates, 18 Sarpanch and 108 Panch are in fray in the constituency, he further added that 32373 voters including 16660 male and 15713 females are going to exercise their franchise in the Nutnussa constituency.
He said 92 polling stations have been established for which 280 presiding and polling officers have been detailed on duty.
Garg said adequate security of contesting candidates and polling booths and staff has already been beefed up and all arrangements have been put in place to ensure the election smoothly.
Meanwhile, the District Administration Kupwara also detailed polling staff along with election material to DDC constituency Nutnussa on the occasion.
SDM Lolab, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat also Nodal officer elections urged upon the Zonal, Sectoral Magistrates and Zonal, Sectoral Police officers appointed for phase-VI of DDC and Panchayat by-election to coordinate among themselves for smooth and fair conduct of the election.
