Sopore: A policeman on election duty in North Kashmir’s Sopore town of Baramulla district was injured after his service rifle went off accidentally in the premises of a polling station.
Police sources told news agency KNT that an accidental fire went off from the service rifle of a Constable namely Muhammad Ashraf while performing QRT duty outside polling booth at Tujjar sharief area of Sopore.
The area falls under the jurisdiction of police station Bomai.
The Constable received bullet injury on his right foot. He has been referred to SKIMS Soura from Sopore hospital for further treatment
