DGP sanctions Rs.90 lakh spl welfare relief for NoKs of deceased police personnel, SPOs

Jammu: Continuing with its endeavour to provide financial assistance to the families of the police personnel who have passed away while in service, the Director-General of Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned rupees 90 lakh as Special Welfare Relief for NoKs of deceased police personnel and SPOs. While Rs 50 thousand financial assistance has been sanctioned in favour of two police personnel whose residential houses were damaged due to accidental fire incidents, the special welfare relief of Rs20 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents and legal heirs of the deceased personnel HC Shah Mohammad, HC Rakesh Kumar and CT. Gh Hussain.
According to a statement issued on Thursday out of the said amount of Rs one lakh each has been already paid to the families and NoKs for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the PHQ through their concerned units. “The financial assistance has been given out of Contributory Police Welfare Fund”, reads the statement, adding that “DGP has also sanctioned rupees 30 lakh in favour of NoKs of six deceased SPOs”.
The statement further said that Rs five lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of families/ legal heirs of deceased SPOs Chamail Singh, Saroop Chand, Bodh Raj, Isher Chand, Abdul Rehman and Anil Kumar who expired while they were engaged with the department. “Out of this amount rupees 50 thousand each was already paid to the families/NoKs for performing the last rites as immediate relief. The financial assistance has been given out of Contributory Police Welfare Fund of SPOs” reads the statement .

The statement also said that DGP also sanctioned Rs 25 thousands each as financial assistance in favour of Foll. Ab Rashid and Ct. Firdouse Ahmad whose residential houses were damaged due to accidental fire incidents.

“Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of policemen killed in action, their wards and also for the retired Police personnel and their spouses”, said the statement.
