Awantipora police arrests notorious drug peddler, contraband substances , cash recovered

Awantipora: Police in Awantipora have arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered contraband substances & cash from his possession.Police said in a statement.
Saying that “on a credible input, Officers at a checkpoint established near Kadlabal Pampore intercepted a notorious drug peddler identified as Firdous Ahmad Mir @Fira Codeine son of Ghulam Hassan Mir resident of Kadlabal Pampore”, Police in it’s statement said “during search, 20 grams of Heroin like substance, 25 bottles of Codeine Phosphate and Cash of an amount of Rs. 22,000 were recovered from his possession following which he arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody”.
Police in it’ statement further said “case FIR No. 98/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pampore and further investigation into the matter has been initiated” and appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but declared that people indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
“Consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the people that people is making efforts to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace”, reads the statement.
