Govt’s initiatives transforming people’s lives, uplifting socio-economic profile: PHE Minister

Ganderbal/June,13:Minister for PHE, Irrigation, Flood & Control Sham Lal Choudhary has said Centre government has taken many concrete steps that have transformed people’s lives and uplifted the socio-economic profile of all sections of society. Various schemes have been unveiled and implemented for the development and welfare of farmers, poor and the down-trodden by the government in the last 3 years.

The Minister was speaking at function ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sammelan’ being organized by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) in connection to the completion of three years of Central Government, here Tuesday.

Vice-Chairman SICOP Dr Jahangir Ali, Vice-Chairman Horticulture G M Mir, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Dr Piyush Singhla, SSP Ganderbal Fayaz Ahmand Lone and SRM HPCL J&K Aijaj Ahmad Katchroo were also present on the occasion.

The event is a part of the campaign being held across the country and the objective behind is to mark the completion of three years in office by the Central Government and to share the message of development among the citizens.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister said the centre government has paved way for development and many historic initiatives have been taken during this tenure which has really benefited the people. Be it economy, social reforms, battle against corruption, foreign policy, decisive action against terrorism, the centre government has been able to provide good governance to the people, the Minister said.

The Minister reiterated that the three-year period underlined inclusive growth and empowerment of all communities without appeasement. In these three years, free domestic LPG connections were given to poor families, ‘Jan Dhan’ accounts of more than 26 crore people were opened and large numbers of poor people were included in various social security schemes.

Sham Lal Choudhary said employment opportunities have been provided to unemployed youth besides initiatives like ‘Start Up India’, Stand Up India’ and ‘Make In India’ has been getting good response from people.

He said the central government is working on the agenda of inclusive development and the country has witnessed overall growth on the ground. Several of the common-man centric schemes have changed the life of people and managed to bring smile on their faces, he added.

The Minister said the basic objective of ‘Sabaka Saath Sabka Vikas Sammelan’ is to tell the people how these schemes have made difference and positively impacted their lives, improved quality of living, and made them feel not only beneficiaries but also partners in the process of development.

‘Pradhan Mantri Ujwala Yojna, Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojna, Jan Dhan Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna, Ujala Yojna, Rural Electrification, Jan Aushadhi Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Krishhi Sichayee Yjna, Kaushal Vikas Yojana, Digital India, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Jojna, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Sukanya Samridhi Uojna, Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, Suraksha Bima Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, Atal Bima Yojna, Make In India, UDAN are some of the several initiatives of the government which have immensely benefitted millions of marginalized sections’, the Minister said.

On the occasion, the Minister also distributed free LPG connections under PMUY to female beneficiaries of district Ganderbal. He also urged well-off people to give up their subsidy so that the money can be utilized for welfare progra The Minister asked the district administration to organize special camps to sensitize people about the schemes so that every deserved beneficiary is benefitted.

The Minister also appreciated the efforts of oil companies for providing free LPG connections to the needy people and asked them to ensure that no beneficiary in any case be left out in the state under PMUY.

VC SICOP Dr Jahangir Ali also spoke on the occasion and highlighted central government’s initiatives specially meant for betterment of poor people. He said government is working on the agenda of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ and very effectively reaching out to the people with these initiatives.

VC Horticulture G M Mir congratulated the government for completing 3 years in office. He said this government is working tirelessly to bring era of development and the people too have showed faith on the government. He urged the people to make them aware about these welfare schemes so that they can be benefitted.

The event showcased all the development programs and initiatives of the Government of India during last three years besides a short film on the performance of the government were also screened on the occasion.

On the occasion, officers of district administration including SSP Ganderbal were felicitated for their services rendered to the people.  Cultural performances including skit on PMUY by local artists were also performed during the event.

Among others, officers from HPCL, senior political leaders and large number of people were present on the occasion.
