Jammu: Director Animal Husbandry Jammu, Vivek Sharma, Friday reviewed the functioning of the department in the districts here at a meeting.
Joint Director Farms, Joint Director Poultry and Chief Animal Husbandry officers of all the districts of Jammu division along with the Poultry Development officers participated in the said meeting.
During the meeting, the director took a detailed review on the progress of various farmer welfare Schemes especially -implementation of Jammu & Kashmir Poultry Policy 2020/ Integrated Dairy development Scheme & Cattle feed Processing and fodder development Scheme. The Director issued on the spot directions for meeting the deficiencies. It was impressed upon all the officers to organize awareness camps at grassroots level so that the farmers’ get fully acquainted with the departmental programs/ Schemes and basic aim of government’s vision of doubling of farmers’ income is accomplished.
The progress on other flagship programs like NAIP-II was also discussed and the concerned officers were advised to strive hard by mobilizing the field staff to achieve the target in a time bound manner.
Besides, the progress of NABARD Projects/ Languishing Projects and Expenditure incurred under various schemes was also reviewed.
All the controlling Officers were directed to expedite the assigned works and efficient utilization of allotted funds.
