G’bal Police arrests drug peddler, psychotropic substance recovered

G’bal: Police in Ganderbal have arrested a drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.
In a statement issued on Friday police said “officers at a checkpoint established in the jurisdiction of Police Station Lar intercepted a Maruti-800 vehicle bearing registration number JK09-2682 with one person on board”, adding that “ he has been identified as Aadil Ahmad Wani resident of Shuhama, Ganderbal”.
Saying that during checking, Officers were able to recover Codeine Phosphate consignment from his possession and shifted him to P S Lar after his arrest, police in it’s statement said “ a case FIR No. 90/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Lar and investigation in the matter has been initiated”.
Police in it’s statement has also appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law”.
Police in it’s statement also resolved to deal robustly with drug peddlers saying that it’s actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members about the measures taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
