Preparedness for Phase-I finalised at Ganderbal

G’bal: Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba Tuesday chaired a meeting of Returning Officers (ROs), Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) and Nodal Officers to finalise the arrangements for the first phase of DDC and Panchayat by-elections in the district.
The meeting discussed preparation of list of contesting candidates, arrangements for printing of Ballot Papers, safe custody of Ballot Papers, status of Ballot Boxes, verification of Electoral Roll, Polling Material status, expenditure by contesting candidates and other related arrangements.
In the first phase, the elections in Ganderbal district would be held in the far flung Gund areas.
The ADC asked the ROs and AROs to brief the contesting candidates about expenditure during the campaign as prescribed by the Election authority. He also briefed them about the colour coding of Ballot Paper and their safe custody after printing till its distribution among poll parties.
Regarding verification and AMF status of polling stations, the ROs/AROs were asked to visit each polling station and submit the report.
During the meeting the ADC issued necessary instructions to the concerned for smooth, free and fair conduct of elections in the district and asked the officers to be well prepared for the task.
