Shopian: In connection to the District Development Council (DDC), Panchayat by-election, the training was Tuesday imparted to the polling staff (POs/ P1/P2/P3) of the district here at Shopian.
The training was conducted under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr Sheikh Abdul Aziz and Nodal officer for Manpower Management and Nodal Officer Training, Dr. Mohammad Amin was also present on the occasion.
During the training, Dr Sheikh Abdul Aziz briefed the Polling Officers about their duties and functions especially to ensure free, fair and smooth conduct of by-election (Panchayat). They were also advised to monitor the activities in the polling booth.
The Nodal Officer for Manpower Management advised the participants to be generous to voters during the election period and complete the set targets.
On the occasion, master trainers asked the polling staff to perform their duties with utmost dedication and strictly adhere to the guidelines of ECI for smooth conduct of by-elections (Panchayat).
They stressed upon the polling staff members to strictly adhere to the Covid-19 advisories and guidelines issued by the government in letter and spirit including wearing of masks, use of sanitizers, maintaining social distancing during the election process.
