Kulgam Police arrests 2 drug peddlers, contraband substance recovered

Kulgam: Acting tough against the drug dealings, Police in Kulgam have arrested two drug peddlers including a lady and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued on Monday police said “a police party headed by SHO PS Kulgam under the supervision of Dy SP HQRs Kulgam raided a residential house belonging to Ghulam Mohammad Laway at Chawalgam Kulgam”, adding that “during searches, officers recovered 2.5Kgs of Charas from the possession of two persons including a lady identified as Ghulam Mohammad Laway and his wife Shameema, both residents of Chawalgam Kulgam”. The statement said both the accused have been arrested and shifted to PS Kulgam where they remain in custody.
Police in it’s statement also said that a case FIR no 280/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation has been initiated.
Police in the above referred statement also appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
