Rafique Rather elected President EJAC

Rafiq Rather the Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) was on Monday elected President Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) Jammu & Kashmir an umbrella organisation of employee unions of different parts of the Jammu & Kashmir Government.
A statement issued by the Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) said Election Commission nominated by EJAC held the election on 16th November for the post of President EJAC. After the polling the Election Commission set up for the election declared Mohammad Rafique Rather successful for the post of President EJAC in presence of employees who had come to Srinagar for participating in the elections. The Employees present on the occasion raised pro EJAC and pro Rather slogans amid cheers. Rathar was warmly greeted on the occasion.
During his Maiden speech to a gathering of employees , newly elected president Rafique Rather praised the election commission for the successful conduct of the elections to conclude a democratic process Rafique Rather thanked all the heads of the units affiliated with EJAC for facilitating the process of elections . Rather said that EJAC is the only integrated platform of employees which came into existence to restore the honour and dignity of employees and vowed to strengthen the basic structure of EJAC. He said unity of EJAC shall be his first priority and demands of employees working in different departments will be taken up with the Government on priority . He promised that the genuine demands of daily wagers and casual labourers working in Jammu & Kashmir shall be viewed seriously and their exploitation won’t be tolerated .
Rather said that circulars and orders issued from time to time by the Jammu & Kashmir Government to demoralize and demonise the employees community will be be defended legally and democratically . Rafique Rather appealed senior leaders of EJAC to stand united for immediate redressal of demands of employees and stressed for the need to reinvigorate the spirit and soul of EJAC for restoring the dignity and Honour of its employees. Rather thanked all Employees present on the occasion who had come from far flung areas for his support. He assured them that EJAC will come up to their expectations for resolving their genuine issues and protect their self respect.Rather also thanked persons from electronic and print media for their support and highlighting the voice of Employees of J&K.
