Reasi: District Level Inter-Zone Athletic Meet(Boys) organised by district Youth Services and Sports department was held today here at General Zorawar Singh Stadium under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib.
Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, Pushkar Raj Sharma, the chief Guest declared the athletic event open in presence of Guest of Honour Sub Divisional Agricultural officer, S.N Uppal,and Youth Services and Sports officer, Subash Chander Sharma.
In the meet, 75 athletes from Reasi, Arnas, Pouni and Mahore zones participated in different activities like Long jump, High jump, Race, Shotput and many more.
While addressing the gathering, Subash chander said that the winners of the meet will get a chance to take part in Divisional and State Level Tournaments which are the initial platform for National level competitions.
In 100mtr Race competition, Gourav Roy clinched first position, Kaniya and Rinku Manhas ended as first and second runner ups.
Similarly, in the long jump event U 14, Rajeev Singh bagged first prize ,while second prize went to Farhaam Malik.
In the High jump event for U14, first position went to Mohammad Asif and second position to Amit Kumar. Similarly, in Shot put U19 Ajay Singh bagged first position followed by Manjeet Singh.
