Shopian: To ensure smooth conduct of upcoming District Development Council /Panchayat Bye-Elections 2020 in the district, a daylong training for Returning Officers (ROs), Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) was Thursday held here at District Administrative Complex in presence of District Election Officer, Shopian Choudhary Mohammad Yasin.
During the training program, ROs and AROs were imparted training about their role and responsibilities, Nomination Process, Scrutiny of Nomination Forms, Withdrawal of Candidature and other allied procedures for the smooth conduct of the elections.
The DEO exhorted upon the participants to get themselves acquainted with their duties and responsibilities during the election period for conduct of the process in a total hassle free manner. He also asked for ensuring strict adherence to MCC and other guidelines of Election Commission of India in letter and spirit.
The election procedures and duties of elections were also discussed in length during the training session.
Among others, DDEO Tanveer Majid, Master Trainers, besides other officers including ROs and AROs were present.
