SCERT J&K concludes Webinar Series on NEP-2020

Jammu: For the effective implementation of National Educational Policy (NEP)-2020 in Jammu and Kashmir, newly created SCERT J&K, under the guidance and supervision of Prof Veena Pandita, Director SCERT J&K, Tuesday conducted 8th and last webinar on the theme-Standard Setting and Accreditation for School Education: Challenges/ Opportunities vis-a-vis J&K.
At the outset, Ashu Mangotra, from Team Jammu, led by Pardeep Billowria, presented a powerful presentation, highlighting the key features of NEP-2020 along with Challenges/ Opportunities to be faced while implementing it in J&K. It was followed by a power packed presentation by Team SCERT Kashmir led by Nazir Ahmed Reshi of DIET Sopore.
An open Question Answer session with a fair and frank deliberation to quell the doubts of participants was a hallmark feature of this webinar.
Panellists of the session, Dr Govind Kumar Inakhya, from Deptt of Public Policy and Public Administration Central University Jammu and Dr Firdous Ahmad Sofal from Deptt of Education, Central University Kashmir provided valuable inputs and insights on the subject.
Chairperson of the session, Prof Indrani Bhaduri, Department of ESD at NCERT New Delhi, enlightened the participants about the standard setting and accreditation for School Education as envisaged in the NEP-2020 & discussed about challenges to set-up a SSSA (Sate School Standard Authority) in the States/UTs & SQAAF ( School Quality Assessment & Accreditation Framework) by SCERTs.
She also stressed on transparency, safety, security and infrastructure in the schools to be taken care of as the major regulatory steps & impressed upon all to focus on sustainable development goals for the 21st century India.
Brief summary of day’s proceedings was presented by Sheikh Gulzar Ahmad, Lecturer, DIET Beerwah.
Deepak Sharma, SCERT Jammu extended the vote of thanks to Prof Indrani Bhaduri, Chairperson, Prof Veena Pandita Director SCERT J&K, Joint Directors Shokat Mehmood & Abid, Panellists and whole team for smooth conduct of series of webinars.
Tuesday’s webinar was anchored by Dr Nazeen SCERT(K) & the technical support was provided by G.H.Reshi, Hilal Sultan, Akash Khajuria and others.
