Srinagar/Oct,30 : Jammu & Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JK CSF) on Friday held a key meeting to discuss the situation arising in the aftermath of the announcement of new land laws for Jammu & Kashmir by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).The JK CSF announced it’s decision to hold a sit in protest against announcement of new land laws and alleged attempts to “change” demography of Jammu and Kashmir.
In the statement issued here on Friday the Jammu & Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JK CSF) said that several important issues including prevailing situation of Jammu and Kashmir was also discussed in the meeting. “All the leaders voiced their deep anguish and resentment against the attempts to change demography of Jammu & Kashmir in the backdrop of the announcement of new land laws” , the statement reads, adding that ” a decision was taken that JK CSF would hold a a sit in protest against new land laws and attempts to change demography of Jammu & Kashmir on 2nd November , ie, Monday this week near Press Enclave Srinagar”
The meeeting chaired by JKCSF Chairman and former President of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) Abdul Qayoom Wani was attended among other by Farooq Ahmad Trali,Nusrat Ahmad Beigh, Haji Farooq Ahmad lone, Mohd Akbar Mir and others.
