DDC reviews progress of power sector at Kupwara

Kupwara: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg Wednesday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the pace and progress of Power Sector, here.
On the occasion, the DDC reviewed the capacity and distribution system of all Receiving Stations and directed concerned engineers to fast track the execution work of all ongoing schemes and projects. He asked them to keep all lines and Receiving Stations charged, so that people do not have to face any difficulties during the ensuing cold winter.
He also reviewed the power supply position of border areas of Keran, Machil and Teetwal and gave on spot directions to the concerned officers to resolve various issues, impediments.
The DDC got appraisal of the Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS), PMDP-Rural, PMDP- Urban, RAPDRP and DDUGJY through power point presentation.
The DDC also reviewed the progress of augmentation of seven Receiving Stations at Sogam, Chogul, Doolipora, Ganapora, Khumriyal, Kralpora and Krusan.
Progress of electrification of un-electrified villages of the district was also reviewed and it was informed that 65 percent work of Rs 6.60 crore has been completed and by March 2021 the project will be completed.
The DDC also took stock of the impediments confronting the operation of the work in the district.
Speaking at the occasion, the DDC stressed upon the concerned engineers to redouble their efforts and ensure completion of all ongoing works within stipulated time frame. He also stressed for the greater co- ordination between the officers to make the work style easier at ground level.
Among others, Superintending Engineer KPDCL, Joint Director Planning, Chief Medical Officer, District Information Officer, Executive Engineers, Tehsildar Kupwara and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
