Srinagar Police arrests two drug peddlers, contraband substance recovered

Srinagar: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Srinagar have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Officers during patrolling at Khona Khan Dalgate intercepted two individuals identified as Mohd Rafiq Pootu resident of Saida Kadal Rangar Stop Srinagar and Aqib Manzoor Bakhroo resident of Bakhroo Mohalla Rainawari Srinagar.
During search officers were able to recover 1100 grams of charas from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station R.M Bagh where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, case FIR No. 110/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station R.M Bagh and investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Police has resolved to deal robustly with drug peddlers.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
Apni Party’s Mir Javed condoles the demise of Usman Majid’s brother in law
Srinagar: Senior functionary of Jammu & Kashmir Apni Party from North Kashmir’s Kupwara district Advocate Mir Javed on Monday condoled the demise of Gh Mohi Ud Din Wani brother in law of former minister and senior leaders of J&K Apni Party Usman Abdul Majeed.
In a condolence statement issued here on Monday Mir Javed conveyed his condolences to former minister and senior leader of J&K Apni Party Usman Abdul Majeed on the demise of his brother in law Gh Mohi Ud Din Wani who he said was a social activist in Bandipora area of North Kashmir. He prayed for eternal peace to the departed family and courage to the bereaved family to bear the untimely separation of Gh Mohi Ud Din Wani.
