DIC Ang launches e-Training for registration on GeM portal

Anantnag: District Industries Center Friday launched one day online training program for registration of MSME units on GeM portal at District Headquarter Anantnag.
This program, initiated by Government e-Market place (GeM), Union Ministry of Commerce, is aimed at to facilitate MSME unit holders of J&K with ample opportunities of national market.
District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, K.K Sidha, General Manager, DIC, Anantnag, Peerzada Zahoor Ahmad, Commercial Tax Officer, Anantnag, Hamid Ganie, representatives of various banks and about 45 industrial unit holders participated in the event.
Business facilitator GeM (J&K), Kush Tyigia, gave a detailed presentation about registration of MSME unit holders on GeM portal.
Commercial Tax Officer, Anantnag, informed the unit holders regarding the importance of timely filling of GST returns and its reimbursement under GST regime.
While concluding the session, Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the unit holders to register themselves on GeM portal which would help them sell their products on a bigger platform at national level. He appreciated the initiative taken up by Industries & Commerce Department to acquaint their unit holders with latest market challenges adding that such online programs shall be started in every Industrial Estate so that maximum entrepreneurs could be benefitted.
General Manager DIC said objective to conduct such webinars across Jammu & Kashmir is to apprise the unit holders about various schemes, importance of GeM registration, UDYAM and TREADS registration.
During the interaction, the problems faced by the unit holders located both within and outside the organized sectors were also recorded.
While explaining the advantages of GeM portal, Kush Tyigia said efficacy, transparency and economy are its basic foundation adding that unit holders get an opportunity for single window procuring of all general goods & services, simplified process, real time and historical data, decision making and policy feedback besides prudence in budget management, faster account settlement with timely payment to service provider, better price discovery and generation of auditory.
This comes on the eves of series of webinars conducted by Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Kashmir to ensure better coordination with unit holders and District Industries Centers with all the districts wherein unit holders were acquitted with various MSME schemes, UDHYAM, TReDS and GeM portal registration.
During these webinars the unit holders located both in Organized & Unorganized sector highlighted their issues facing in smooth functioning of their units. Most of their issues were resolved and the developmental demands of Industrial Estates put-forth by the unit holders were incorporated in current year’s plan. The unit holders repeatedly raised concerns about the erratic power supply to Industrial estates which has been taken up with the Chief Engineer, Power Development Department.
The representatives of SIDCO and SICOP were emphasized to expedite the works with regard to maintenance and upkeep of Industrial Estates.
