Drug peddler arrested, psychotropic drugs, Rs 150000 cash recovered

Reasi:Police on Friday claimed to have recovered psychotropic drugs including 7000 tramadol capsules and arrested one person involved in it and also recovered Rs 150000 cash from his possession.
According an official statement issued on Friday the Police Station Arnas received an information from reliable source that one medical store at Hunder Gali Tehsil Arnas, owned by Ashesh Kumar, son of Som Dutt of Hunder is selling these psychotropic drugs illegally to the youth of the area.
“Police party from Police Station Arnas headed by SI Babu Ram proceeded to the spot and in presence of Executive Magistrate Dr Riyaz Ahmed conducted the search of the shop premises. During the search, approx 3000 capsules and tablets of Tramadol were recovered from his shop, which were seized as per procedure laid down in NDPS Act,” police said.
Taking further lead from Ashesh Kumar, police party apprehended Ravinder Singh, son of Lal Singh of Chassana in presence of Executive Magistrate at Maslote, when he was coming to supply 4000 capsules to Ashesh Kumar, police said, adding that he was main supplier who used to supply these capsules to medical shops in Arnas, Mahore and Chassana. “He was carrying these capsules in his vehicle Wagon R under the seat concealed in a specially built chamber,” police added.
Moreover, police said that Rs 150,000 cash was also recovered from the possession of accused Ravinder Singh, which he was carrying to purchase consignment from a medical agency somewhere in Jammu.
In this regard, police said a case under FIR number 92/2020 under section 8/21/23 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station and further investigation is going on and more leads are expected in near future.
“The whole operation was conducted by incharge SHO SI Qasim under the supervision of SDPO Arnas Dr Satish Bhardwaj, and overall supervision of Additional SP Reasi Surjeet Bhagat and SSP Reasi Rashmi Wazir,” police added
