NC leader, Chowdry Ramzan’s father passes away, demise widely condoled

Srinagar: Father of senior National Conference leader and former minister Chaudhry Muhammad Ramzan passed away
Haji Ghulam Ahmad Chaudhry, senior leader of National Conference and father of former minister Chaudhry Muhammad Ramzan, passed away at his Srinagar residence on Tuesday morning after a short illness. Funeral prayers of the deceased will be offered in his hometown Handwara after Asr prayers. National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah visited Handwara and participated in the Namaz e Janaza of Chaudhary Ghulam Ahmed. Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Sharief Ud Din Shariq, Showkat Ahmed Mir, Mir Saifullah, Qaisar Jamsheed Lone, GR Naaz, Mushtaq Guroo, Kwaja Yaqoob Wani, Syed Rafiq Shah also participated in the Namaz e Janaza. Various political, social leaders, other associations and organizations expressed grief over his demise and prayed for courage to the departed soul.
While expressing grief over the demise of Chaudhary Ghulam Ahmed, the National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah said, “the news of the passing away of Haji Gh Ahmad Chaudhry revered father of Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan has saddened me. I express my unison with the bereaved family in particular Choudhary Ramzan. I pray to Almighty to grant highest stations to the deceased in Jannah and much needed fortitude to the grief-stricken family members. The deceased was a pious person, he will be remembered for his highly endowed personality,” he said.
Party Vice President and former Chief Omar Abdullah in his condolence message expressed grief over the demise of Chaudhary Ramzan’s father, prayed for peace to the deceased, and much needed strength to the bereaved to bear the irreparable loss. “I express my sympathies with the bereaved family in particular Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan. I pray for the highest echelons to the deceased in Jannah,” he said. Party’s members of Parliament Muhammad Akbar lone, Hasnain Masoodi have also condoled the demise of Choudhary Ghulam Ahmed, prayed for peace to his soul and strength to the bereaved. The duo has in particular expressed solidarity with Party’s Senior Leader, former minister and Legislature Chaudhary Muhammad Ramzan.
