DDC Bandipora flags-off 100 students for trekking expedition to Gurez

Bandipora: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad Tuesday flagged off a group of 100 students for a trekking expedition to Gurez valley.
The camp consists of 100 trekkers of different schools of five education zones of the district. The week-long trekking camp is organised by Youth Services and sports office Bandipora.
On the occasion DDC Bandipora interacted with the enthusiastic trekkers and advised them to enjoy their trekking expedition in Gurez valley by scaling the mighty mountains and explore their own district.
He said the aim of organizing such trekking expeditions is to imbibe in the youngsters the enthusiasm for adventures besides promoting adventure tourism in Kashmir.
He advised the students while trekking try to keep the environment neat and clean by not throwing polythene and other things which pollutes the nature.
District Officer Youth Services and Sports Gh Qadir Bhat on the occasion said that YSS will continue to organise such trekking camps in future to promote adventure tourism.
He said a grand finale will be organized in Dawar Gurez on Saturday at the conclusion of the trekking camp. Nodal Officer Sports Activities Peerzada Khursheed Ahmad Shah was also present on the occasion.
