Srinagar: Chairman People’s Democratic Front (PDF ) Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, while expressing deep concen over increasing spike in Covid-19 cases, on Friday sought the adequate supply of oxygen and treatment facilities in various Covid hospitals of Jammu and Kashmir . He has also demanded separate Covid treatment in routine health centers so that routine OPD and surgical procedures for non covid patients are resumed without further delay.
In a statement issued here on Friday Hakeem in a statement issued here on Friday demanded immediate resumption of OPD and surgical procedures in hospitals across Jammu and Kashmir saying that hospitals for Covid 19 treatment should be delinked from rest of the health centers so that common patients can get their health check ups and treatment without any difficulty. He said number of routine patients was much more than the covid patients who have been pushed to the wall for seeking medical treatment.
PDF Chairman has also urged the government to ensure round the clock supply of electricity in rural and urban areas of the state so that oxygen concentrators for Covid patients put on home quarantine can be run without any failure. He also demanded adequate facilities at various Covid qurantine centers saying that complaints and grievances by Covid-19 patients in this regard should be redressed seriously.
Hakeem while lauding the initiative of Rapid Antigen Test (RAT ), demanded that this facility should be extended to far flung and rural areas so that every household gets tested to break the chain of dreaded Coronavius effectively. He said RAT test for every entrant to jammu and kashmir should be ensured in a foolproof manner and any person hiding travel history should be punished severely under law.
Hakeem also made a fervent appeal to the people to follow health guidance protocols and WHO SOPs for protection from Covid-19 infection as all have to safeguard and protect themselves as well as others from infection of this dreaded disease. He said people should not be complacent that with the gradual lifting of lockdown, the Novel Coronavius has ended but it would exist till a WHO approved Vaccine reaches the world pharmaceutical market, which may take some more months.
