Back to Village is a way to rapid growth, dev, empowerment of rural populace: Advisor Sharma

Pulwama: “Back to Village is a way towards rapid growth and development through a corruption free environment besides empowering people in true sense”, stated Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, K. K. Sharma here Friday during a B2V event conducted at Pahoo Panchayat Halqa in Pulwama district.
Advisor said this third phase of ambitious B2V program has been launched following the overwhelming response and feedback of the public in the first two phases of the program. “This unique initiative of the government has proven itself as a game changer towards taking good governance at the people’s doorsteps extending them much needed succor from their worries and miseries”, he maintained.
Advisor Sharma inaugurated a sporting event at Pahoo Panchayat in Block Kakapora besides laying foundation of power infrastructure in the area. He said Back To Village Program is aimed at to improve public service delivery system with prompt redressal of public grievances within the shortest possible time besides achieving cent percent saturation of beneficiary oriented schemes. He said government is committed to provide employment to Youth besides augmenting the avenues of self employment and entrepreneurship.
Meanwhile, Advisor visited the Kakapora panchayat and inaugurated a lane developed by Rural Development Department.
He was accompanied by District Development Commissioner, Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer, Director Tourism Kashmir, Nisar Ahmad Wani, who is also the Visiting Officer to the Halqa, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson Block Development Council, Kakapora.
During his tour to the Panchayat, Advisor inspected the stalls installed by different departments and enquired about the grievances redressal mechanism being adopted by the officers to satiate public aspirations and development needs.
Advisor interacted with scores of people who attended the B2V3 program and listened to their issues and grievances.
Later, Advisor distributed sports kits, income and domicile certificates and sanction letters under Ladli Beti scheme besides giving away Baby Kits to newly born girl children under BBBP. He also distributed wheel chairs, hearing aids , walking sticks among the persons with disabilities besides giving away paddy thrashers to people.
During the event, school children displayed various sports activities like Martial Arts, Chess competitions, Soft ball and Tug of War.
PRIs and local welfare committee members met the visiting officer and raised their demands and issues.
A local welfare committee delegation in Pahoo raised the issue of expeditious completion of water supply scheme, construction of old Pahoo bridge besides beautification of Ziyarat and Public park, sanctioning of a Bank unit, a vetrinary hospital in the Halqa, PHC and availability of adequate staff especially science teaching staff in the local high school.
A delegation of Youth raised the issue of modern play field besides construction of an open air gym.
Pertinently, Back to Village Program was held in all eleven blocks of the district where detailed discussion was held regarding different development projects besides issues being faced by the common masses of different panchayats.
The designated officers including ADCs Pulwama, Tral and Awantipora besides other district officers listened to the demands and issues of the people.
Later the Advisor also visited several high density orchids and interacted with the orchardists.
He said the high density programmable being implemented by the horticulture department is a game changer in increasing the horticultural produce of the UT and people should benefit from it
He was accompanied by DC Pulwama, Chief Horticulture Officer and other senior officers.
