Srinagar: The Department of Agriculture Kashmir Thursday launched a special drive to eradicate the menace of spurious fertilisers, pesticides and seeds.
In this context, the Law Enforcement Agency of Agriculture Department headed by Director Law Enforcement Abdul Rahim Samoon conducted 260 raids and inspections of various godowns, premises and shops dealing with the business across the valley.
As many as 251 samples were collected during the course and the same shall be sent to different notified laboratories for quality analysis in the UT as well as outside.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Law Enforcement said this special drive will continue to ensure regulation of standard and genuine insecticides, fertilizers and seeds to the farming community.
He warned of strict action against those found involved in contravening any provision of the insecticide act 1968 and fertilizer control order 1985.
