Short Term Course on Entrepreneurship concludes at GCET Jammu

Jammu: One week long Short-Term course (STC) on “Entrepreneurship: A Way of Thinking” organised by Start-Up cell of Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Jammu, in collaboration with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University(SMVDU) , Katra through online mode concluded Saturday.
The STC was conducted under TEQIP III, supported by J&K Start UP Association and powered by Institution Innovation Council (IIC), MHRD.
The STC was organized with the aim to provide constructive direction and reorient the minds of those who choose a career path different from the traditional roles. Moreover, it focused to help the budding entrepreneurs to strengthen the entrepreneurial motives, acquire skills and capabilities necessary for playing the entrepreneurial role effectively. The program was enriched by the knowledge and experience of eminent speakers from Industries, organizations, founders of various Startups and Faculty from different Institutions/organisations within India and Abroad.
The Speakers of different sessions were Mohit Kumar Territory Manager, HDFC Life, Kanpur, Dr. Ashutosh Srivastava, Director Business, JNPS OxyJoy Private Limited (OXY), Varanasi, Dr. Arun Kumar, ABV-IIITM, Gwalior, Dr. Anil Kumar,Metropolitan University, London, UK , Aditya Kashyap, Founder of FreshBridge Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Delhi, Dr. Himanshu Shrivastava, SAS, R&D, Melbourne, Australia, Ashish Yadav: (Leadership Team at Box8, Pune), Shalu Mitruka, Co-founder and Chief Business officer at GrowthPal, Pune, Swadesh Kumar, Manager at Ola Electric, Bangalore and Ajay Sharma, Territory Manager, Crompton Greeves, Gurugram.
Sessions primarily focused on various topics on Entrepreneurship like how to start a good business, key points for success, Basics/importance of entrepreneurship Design, Thinking and Team Building, Journey from idea to product, role of marketing, Design thinking: A way of thinking entrepreneurship innovations, What makes an Entrepreneur, Analytics in Supply Chain, High level understanding of Go to Market Plan, A practical approach to build something of your own,How to judge the market, Product Marketing and much more.
Dr. Ravinder Kumar Sinha Vice Chancellor SMVDU Katra and Dr. Sameru Sharma, Principal GCET, Jammu appreciated the efforts of the organizing team comprising of faculty Dr. Bhawna Sharma, Associate Professor and Chairperson Start-Up Cell, Er. Sheetal Gandotra, Associate Professor and Coordinator Start-UpCell , GCET Jammu, Dr. Vijay Kumar Sharma and Dr. Sachin Kumar Gupta, Assistant Professors, SMVDU Katra.
Earlier, Er. Sheetal Gandotra in her welcome address said this STC would motivate participants for entrepreneurial career and make them capable of perceiving and exploiting successfully opportunities for enterprises, developing skills of potential entrepreneur and help them in developing their own ventures.
The Speakers for the sessions were introduced by Dr. Vijay Kumar Sharma and Dr. Sachin Kumar Gupta. The sessions were coordinated by Er. Hempriya Bali and Er. Cheena Gupta, Amina Khan and Akshita Gupta. It was attended by more than 500 participants comprising students, budding entrepreneurs and faculty of various Engineering Institutes, Degree colleges and organizations across the country.
The students’ insights about the course was shared by Sanjana Sharma followed by vote of thanks by Dr. Bhawna Sharma. In her closing remarks, she emphasized that this STC shall encourage and inspire students to walk on the path of Start Ups, Innovation & Entrepreneurship for securing their future and harnessing the vast untapped human skills, to channelize into accelerating industrialization.
