Jammu: In one of its kind and for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir, two doctors have e-launched a website www.oncofacts.in for cancer awareness.

Jammu- based radiation oncologist, Dr Vikas Roshan and Kashmir- based physician, Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo have come up with the website to create awareness regarding cancer and help cancer patients in redressal of their queries.

“The main aim of the website is to create awareness of multiple aspects of cancers of the body among people in general and help in redressal of the queries from cancer patients in particular”, said Dr Vikas Roshan while talking to Kashmir Horizon.

“Any oncologist can join us and share any expertised information regarding any topic of cancer that should be helpful to people. Besides cancer patients can connect to us via website in seeking valuable advices from the experts”, said Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo.

Pertinent to mention, the two doctors launched a YouTube channel for the same purpose last year and are discussing common cancers of the body through that platform.

Meanwhile (Prof) Dr. Rakesh Kapoor , Director Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Center Mullanpur & Sangrur (Unit of T.M.C, Mumbai), President Radiation Oncologists Association ( North Zone) and Ex. Unit Head Department of Radiotherapy PGIMER, have applauded the innovative initiative on its e-launch and extended his wishes to J & K doctors for its fruitful endeavors.
