The COVID-19 pandemic spreading fast in Jammu than Kashmir does not evoke concern from the Jammu & Kashmir Government directly controlled by Narendra Modi headed BJP led NDA Government from the centre but from the National Conference President and Member Parliament of Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency comprising three central Kashmir districts- Budgam, Ganderbal and Srinagar. Shockingly the BJP MP from Jammu Lok Sabha constituency Jugal Kishore and the party MP from Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency Jitendra Singh also Minister of the State (MoS) in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) don’t bother to utter even a single word against the failure of the covid health care system in Jammu hospitals and only talk about the additional funds the Jammu & Kashmir Government gets from the Union Health Ministry for containing COVID-19 pandemic in Jammu & Kashmir. Had the covid health care system failed to control the pandemic in Jammu region under a muslim chief minister headed popular government in Jammu & Kashmir, the BJP’s parliament members Jugal Kishore and Jitendra Singh would have come out on roads against the Jammu & Kashmir Government just for deriving political mileages from even the issue concerning the health safety of the people. Interestingly Farooq Abdullah has raised an alarm over the crumbling covid health care system in Jammu hospitals but has not spoken about the ailing health care system and crumbling covid health care facilities in Kashmir valley particularly the Budgam and Ganderbal districts of Srinagar parliamentary constituency represented by him in the Lok Sabha. Perhaps the grand old mainstream leader Farooq Abdullah does not know that health department even tried to shift operation theatre from a sub district hospital of a covid hit area of Budgam district to a hospital in Chanpora locality in the civil lines area of Srinagar city just for the purposes of bureaucratic appeasement.
Raising an alarm over the covid health care failures in Jammu region is a welcome but Farooq Abdullah’s silence over the failure of covid care facilities in Budgam , Ganderbal and Srinagar districts is highly objectionable and he owes lot of explanations to electors of his own Lok Sabha constituency comprising three central Kashmir districts Budgam, Ganderbal and Srinagar for not speaking against the authorities misusing covid care health centres just for pecuniary benefits .
The undeniable fact not attracting the attention of Farooq Abdullah as the concerned MP of Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency is that in Budgam and Ganderbal districts most of the doctors have been left untouched by the government for years together and instead of shifting them to other district the government has surprisingly assigned them special charge of covid care facility centres. Though allegations are galore that doctors holding the charges of covid care facility centres in Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal districts are not even asked to present monthly accounts of the money spent on covid care facilities in their respective covid care facility centres, but Farooq Abdullah has not bother to raise questions on the crumbling covid care facilities in any one of the three central Kashmir districts- Budgam, Ganderbal and Srinagar. Unfortunately the health department in Kashmir is run by raw hands who do not bother to reply even the public queries on the failures of covid care health facilities in government run hospitals.
