Jan Abhiyan: Div Com Jammu listens to public grievances

Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, Tuesday held a public Sunwai camp and listened to public grievances as a part of Jan Abhiyan launched by Jammu and Kashmir Government in the run up to Back-to-Village phase III programme.
On the occasion, scores of public delegations, individuals put forth their demands seeking early disposal of the same.
A deputation of kerosene dealers from Rajouri district complained that they are not getting regular supply of the quota from the last 6 months.
The Div Com asked the concerned officer to look into the matter and resolve it at the earliest.
A widow from district Kathua sought financial assistance for construction of her own house, while another widow of Jammu sought widow pension and financial assistance for business to feed her children.
A group of people running a school for providing free education to poor children sought allotment of land in Samba to open another institution for the same purpose. Other delegations and individuals also apprised the Divisional Commissioner about the problems including delayed payment of rent of land under army use, issues with the insurance company and other issues of public concern.
The Div Com gave a patience hearing to all the deputations, individuals and passed on the spot directions to the concerned officers for resolving the issues. He assured quality disposal of all the genuine demands at the earliest.
Additional Commissioner Jammu, besides other concerned officers were also present at the public grievances camp.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner convened a video conference meeting to review the progress on land acquisition for Border Road Organization projects pertaining to district Rajouri.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri along with other concerned officers besides Officers of BRO attended the video conference meeting.
Threadbare discussions were held on various land issues and the Div Com sought case wise status from the DC Rajouri. The DC Rajouri informed that in all the pending land cases of BRO final drafts have been issued.
The Div Com asked the DC to expedite the process and resolve all the pending cases of BRO at the earliest.
