Samoon inspects working of Skill Mission Centre at Karan Nagar

Srinagar: Principal Secretary, School Education and Skill Development, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, Wednesday inspected the working of Skill Mission Centre at Karan Nagar Srinagar which is functioning under Prime Minister Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKV) scheme.
Principal Secretary said the government has resumed Skill Development Training under PMKVY across Jammu and Kashmir from 21st September in Skill Development Mission affiliated training centers after the outbreak of COVID-19.
Dr Samoon said around 5000 youth are undergoing training in various short term training courses and the training centers have been asked to strictly follow COVID-19 SOPs and guidelines issued by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Department.
While interacting with the trainees, Dr Samoon took stock of training being imparted to the youth in the training centre.
Managing Director, Skill Development Mission, Peer G N Sohail accompanied the Principal Secretary during his visit while other officials of Skill Development Mission were present on the occasion.
Earlier, Dr Samoon chaired a meeting of senior officers of Education Department to review and finalize the Revised Estimate for 2020-21 and Budget Estimate 2021-22.
The meeting discussed present status of revised and budget estimates and provision for salary and other components besides deliberating on other issues regarding wages, creation of NCC units, land compensation, schedule of new works etc under plan and non-plan components.
Director Finance, School Education, Iftikhar Hussain Chauhan was present in the meeting while as Director Education, Jammu, Anuradha Gupta, Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, Dr Arun Manhas, Joint Director Planning, representatives of Sainik School, Nagrota and Manasbal besides other senior officers of SED participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
Iftikhar Hussain Chauhan briefed the meeting about different components of Revised Estimate 2020-21 and Budget Estimate 2021-22.
