Apni Party seeks revival of Self Help Group of engineers in J&K

Jammu: Expressing concern over revocation of self help group schemes from J&K, Apni Party has appealed to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to review the scheme of engineers.

According to a statement issued to KNS, reads “The engineers and their families are at the verge of starvation after the government revoked the scheme without taking into consideration the impact it would make on the lives of the people associated with the scheme, ” said Apni Party Provincial President and Former Minister Manjit Singh.

Singh was speaking before the delegation of the Self Help Group who had come to meet the party leaders to highlight their demands. Manjit Singh assured that their demands will forcefully be represented before the government.

In his address, Manjit Singh said that the government should reconsider the decision which has badly affected the unemployed engineers whose source of earning has been snatched.

“These self help groups should be revived for timely completion of projects and encouraging talent in engineering. They were the spot system of the government who has been deprived of their right. They were not asking for the government,” said Apni Party general secretary Vijay Bakaya.

Apni Party Vice President of Jammu Province Syed Asgar Ali said that the BJP has failed to come up to the expectation of the people with their false slogans. The decision to abolish the self help group has exposed the double standard of the party, said Syed Asgar Ali.

Meanwhile, Apni Party leader Paranv Shagotra said that the decision to abolish services of self help groups who had 30 % share in Government projects was not in the interest of the unemployed engineers.

Shagotra said with the snatching of share in government projects, the situation will worsen in J&K as already unemployment is increasing day by day.

He said that the BJP has befooled the people of Jammu with their false promises and deprived engineers of their due share in government projects.

Prominent among those who were present on the occasion include Apni Party General Secretary Vijay Bakaya, Provincial President Manjit Singh, Provincial Vice President Syed Asgar Ali, Ajaz Kazmi, Joginder Singh, Pranav Shagotra, Gourav Kapoor and others. (KNS)
