Doda:District Administration Doda has taken series of steps to ensure availability of the necessary infrastructure for the ambitious Institute of High Altitude Medicinal Plants coming up at Bhaderwah including identification 60-Kanal land for cultivation of Medicinal Plants.

“District Administration constituted a Joint team comprising Floriculture and ISM department who in their report identified the land measuring 60 Kanal at Village Manwah for the cultivation of medicinal/aromatic plants” said Deputy Commissioner Doda.

Pertinently, Union Minister of State (PMO) Dr. Jitendra Singh is personally monitoring the progress of the project and development of the region as a hub of cultivation and research of medicinal plants.

As per the report submitted by the twin departments, the area   is highly feasible for growing medicinal and aromatic plants with temperate climatic conditions.

It is pertinent to mention here that the work on the ambitious Institute of High Altitude Medicinal Plants has already been started. As part of the project the medicinal/aromatic cultivation will be further boosted in the district by providing technical knowhow which will in turn generate livelihood avenues for the farmers.
