Srinagar : The Agriculture Department, Kashmir, Monday organized sale of hybrid variety of seedlings of vegetables including Cabbage, Cauliflower, Knol Khol, G. M. Dari Saag etc here at Kitchen Garden Lalmandi, Srinagar. The main aim of distribution of seedlings is to promote Kitchen Garden activities in both urban and rural areas. It is expected that more than 2 lakh hybrid seedlings of different types will be distributed among the growers.
The famers and unemployed youths are advised to practice seedling production in their fields and kitchen gardens, which is a very profitable venture and can improve their socio economic plight for which the department is providing all technical guidance and support.
The sale witnessed tremendous response from the people and not only farmers from Srinagar but also from other parts of the Valley participated in it, the statement issued by the agriculture department, Kashmir said.
Necessary guidelines, issued by the authorities from time to time in light of Covid-19 pandemic, including maintaining social distancing, were
followed in letter and spirit.
