Reasi: Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rajinder Kumar Sharma, on Monday declared open the Inter-zonal District level tournament for Boys AAG here in the disciplines of Football, Cricket, Badminton, Kho-Kho and Volleyball.
The tournament is being organized by Youth Services & Sports Department in coordination with the District Administration Reasi.
A number of students drawn from 10 schools of three blocks viz Pouni, Arnas and Reasi in the age groups of U-17 and U-19 years (Boys football) are participating in the sports event.
“A total of 55 players of 10 schools of three blocks are participating in the tournament,” a YSS official said.
Addressing the players, the ADC said such competitions help to promote sports culture, which is highly important for over all personality development of the students. Involvement of youth in sports activities is imperative for channelizing their energy in the right direction as it imbibes leadership qualities, team spirit, and discipline among them, he added.
