Jammu: Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo Thursday said that the healthcare professionals working in the hospitals are at higher risk of contracting Covid infection and should adopt adequate precautionary measures during working hours.
He said that there is always an uncertainty bound in the hospitals with regard to contracting Covid infection and on daily basis routine patients admitted in the wards of the hospitals are turning positive for Covid which is emerging as a concern and pose a serious challenge for healthcare professionals.
He further said that healthcare professionals working in the hospitals are routinely getting infected with Covid due to prevailing uncertainty and lack of adequate protocols from hospital administration.
“Amid the pandemic,take every patient as Covid and every ward as Covid ward and accordingly adhere to necessary precautionary measures without any stigmatization, extending due respect with patients.”, Dr Tasaduk tells healthcare professionals.
He said that there are no proper protocols in place in the hospitals to ensure safety of healthcare professionals working continuously under risk.
He urged the Govt. to help each hospital administration in designing proper protocols to ensure safety of healthcare professionals and safety of the community as a whole.
There must be adequate supply of PPEs to hospitals across the Jammu and Kashmir and every hospital administration should take serious note of this matter.
“People should behave responsibly and adhere to all necessary precautionary measures (maintaining recommended physical distancing, avoiding crowds, wearing face mask outside home and repeatedly hand-washing with soap). People should also avoid unnecessary visits to hospitals and avoid unnecessary crowds.”, he added.
“Healthcare professionals working in the hospitals should behave much responsibly while paying visits to their families back home amid the risk of carrying infection,”he said.
