JKEDI, Skill DevDeptt organize webinar for ITI pass outs

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) in collaboration with the Skill Development Department organized a webinar on the topic “Entrepreneurship as a viable career option” for the students of Industrial Training Institutes of Jammu & Kashmir here on Monday.
Principal Secretary School Education and Skill Development, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon was the chief speaker and inaugurated the webinar. Dr Samoon highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship and urged the students to improve their skills to increase their employability.
The faculty members of JKEDI gave a detailed presentation about the entrepreneurial ecosystem in J&K. Aijaz Ahmed Mulla, Assistant Faculty at the Institute, talked about entrepreneurial motivation, risk and barriers to entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial mind-set, opportunity-driven entrepreneurship, and necessity driven entrepreneurship. He also talked about various schemes implemented by the Institute for the young prospective entrepreneurs and assured the participants that entrepreneurship can be a viable career option. Sheikh Nowsheen, Assistant Faculty, apprised the participants about various business opportunities in the J&K.
This webinar is the second part of the series initiated earlier this month for the students associated with the Department of Skill Development.
Director JKEDI, G.M. Dar assured the participants of full support and informed them that very soon the Entrepreneurship Development Programs will be started simultaneously both at Srinagar and Jammu for prospective entrepreneurs.
The audience also actively participated in the webinar and asked insightful questions that further stirred the conversation as they were addressed by the experts from JKEDI. Many successful entrepreneurs sponsored by JKEDI also attended the webinar and motivated the participants and apprised them about the ups and downs of choosing entrepreneurship as a career choice.
The webinar was also attended by Sajad Hussain Ganai, Director, Skill Development Department, Mission Director, J&K Skill Development Mission, Dr Suhail Masoodi and Superintendents of all ITI’s of J&K.
