Srinagar: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen on Thursday said that mainstream leaders of Jammu and Kashmir have utterly failed to evolve a consensus against central government’s Aug 5 decisions despite a clarion call given by the PDF for the purpose . He said Article 370 is the symbol of socio- political identity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir which can be restored only through democratic means.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Hakeem said some mainstream parties have again started to hoodwink public opinion on false slogans to restore Article 370 of the Constitution of india for regaining thier lost power . He said these power hungry political parties have since 1947 , thrived only on showing hollow dreams to the people for protection of the special status of Jammu and kashmir for clinching to power corridors. He said people have now become politically matured enough that they could not be hoodwinked on false promises .
PDF Chairman said that Shah Faesal had insisted on evolving a consensus on fight against Article 370 abrogation at the time when all mainstream leaders were hurdled together in a detention Centre in Srinagar but mainstream leaders, who have thrived on politics over Article 370 for decades together, could not evolve a consensus on fight against abrogation of Article 370. He said consequently Shah Faesal is not to be blamed for the failure in evolving a consensus over Article 370 restoration but the total mainstream parties were answerable as they have enjoyed all the lavish assembly and ministerial perks for decades by selling fake dreams on Article 370 .
Hakeem impressed upon all mainstream parties to stop selling false dreams on Article 370 for their power lust and instead try to evolve a larger consensus over a democratic roadmap for restoration of Article 370 and statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
