Director Horticulture(J) tours Akhnoor, Khour area to inspect activities of deptt

Jammu: Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Savak, visited Bhalwal, Akhnoor and Khour area of district Jammu Thursday to review various ongoing developmental programmes taken up by the department.
He elaborated the schemes of the Department of Horticulture in detail to the gathering of the farmers where BDC Chairman of Khour Block, Balbir Singh, Sarpanchs, Panchs besides other progressive farmers of the area were also present. Sub Divisional Magistrate Khour, Anil Kumar Thakur also advised the gathering to avail maximum benefits of the Departmental schemes.
During the tour, the Director Horticulture reviewed the status of Horticulture Plantation on ground level. He kick started the High Density Plantation drive by planting the Mango plant sapling in the 1.5 Ha land of Charan Singh at Narayana Khour; land of Kuldeep Raj and Girdhari lal at Panjtoot, and land of Vijay Kumar at Masyal Khour.
He also Planted fruit plant sapling in the orchard of Rajinder Singh and Des Raj at Ranjan and Nandwal of Bhalwal Zone of Jammu district besides inspected the pit digging work of other projects to be taken up for the plantation during the rainy season.
During the visit, the Director was accompanied by Chief Horticulture Officer Kathua and Jammu, DLSMS’s, Jammu and Horticulture Development Officers of concerned Zone.
