Comr SMC initiates long pending Bemina drainage projects, residents welcome the move, brings  them sigh of Relief!

Srinagar/Aug,12 : Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation Gazanfar Ali Wednesday reviewed Mohharam UL Haram arrangements at Khomeini Chowk and several other adjoining Shia Dominant areas
Commissioner who visited Imambara to take stock of sanitation, functioning of street lights and drainage networking in the said area was accompanied by Joint Commissioner Works, Ishtiyaq Ahmed Shah, S..E Drainage Ahsaan ul Haq, Chief Sanitation Officer Mudasir Banday l and other concerned officers

Directions were passed on to put in place all the arrangements so that devotees face no inconvenience during the Mohharam days and there has to be upgraded sanitation with deployment of all the men and machinery in full swing round the clock. In the absence of drainage networking in the said area Mr Ali directed S.E Drainage to prepare DPR in the first instance and immediately make necessary arrangements there of. Commissioner SMC further directed that all the Shia populated areas shall be inspected properly to see whether the street lights installed are in fully functional mode and if there is any requirement of installing more lights Ahead of Mohharam days.
